“I am currently in the process of editing it and I will be exhibiting the video in April next year. Attached are some photographs from my time filming at Bainbridge Island and Minidoka. I am so grateful for the opportunity to create this project. I received a very warm welcome from the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Community. On my first day there I was invited to pick raspberries and dahlias at the historic Suyematsu Farms. The warmth, community, and beauty of Bainbridge Island was starkly contrasted by the desolate remains of Minidoka. Since the time that I have received the BYA grant I have had many wonderful developments in my career. Including being a recipient of the International Sculpture Center’s 2023 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. As well as exhibiting internationally in the United Kingdom and South Korea. Thank you again so much, this project would not have become a reality without BYA's support.”
